Systems with Scott

Build powerful, personal systems.

Why Systems?

Systems are all around us. They shape our actions and habits more than almost anything else. Building and testing your systems is vital to establishing the type of change you’re looking for. This site was designed as a resource to learn more about systems and how you can design your own.

Welcome, to Systems with Scott

Hello, system builders! If you’re an expert in building systems or you have no idea what I’m talking about, welcome! The intention of this is to stand as a resource to learn more about systems, and take the knowledge I’ve gained and spread it around. It also helps me build another system (would you imagine that) to test more of my own understanding of systems.

Things to change your life.

Things to help improve health.

Systems to help build skills professionally.

Technology to put it all together.

Key Drivers

My personal systems are built on the following principles:

  • Simple: Making your habits and actions simple, makes it more likely to be repeated and therefore a key driver in success when building a system. What’s the value of a system that takes more effort to upkeep than it provides in value back?
  • Cheap/Free: I don’t want to pay $10 a month for your stupid service. As a consumer, I know the game, and don’t want to play it anymore.
  • Scalable: Actions within a system have to not only be simple, but they have to scale. If your system doesn’t account for growth, it’s not going to work longterm.
  • Stackable: Keeping actions small can allow you to stack them on top of each other, giving you more benefit. Stacking your actions is also important during the phase of adopting a new habit where the motivation falls off.
